ABOUT

The Woodstock Exchange is a creative business hub located at 66 Albert Road, just a few minutes from Cape Town’s CBD. Established in 2011, the Exchange is a continuation of the building’s rich history as a place of production and creativity, with a diverse mix of tenants operating across various creative industries.

The building is owned and operated by Indigo Properties, the team behind other Cape Town landmarks, including the Old Biscuit Mill and Old Mac Daddy.

HISTORY

66 Albert Road was historically home to garment-making, as were many buildings in Woodstock and Salt River in the 20th Century, when the clothing and textile industry was Cape Town’s largest employment sector.

The building took on a new life in the early 2000s as artists, designers, and makers moved in, establishing what was known as the Woodstock Industrial Centre as the heart of Cape Town’s burgeoning creative industry.

After extensive renovations and a new vision led by Indigo Properties, 66 Albert Road was relaunched in 2011 as the Woodstock Exchange.

WOODSTOCK

Woodstock has always been a dynamic neighbourhood full of energy, manufacturing and trade, and that legacy endures.

The Exchange is surrounded by longstanding local businesses like Baltic Timber, and new creative neighbours like LOCAL Brewery, Ciovita, and those next door at Side Street Studios. Across the road from the Exchange is the residential WEX1 building, with a SPAR grocer on the ground floor.

LOCATION

The Woodstock Exchange is conveniently located near the edge of Cape Town’s CBD, with easy access to the N1 from Church Street, and to public transport routes with Woodstock train station one block away and a MyCiTi stop on our doorstep.

It’s a fantastic central location to accommodate employees coming from different parts of the city, and almost as close as one can get to the CBD without being in the middle of it. Beyond pure practicality, the building enjoys fantastic views of the city centre, harbour, mountain, and surrounding neighbourhood.
